The School of Education and Psychology has organized, in partnership with the institute of modern languages, the School of Sciences and innovation in education of the University of Navarra, the CLIL Sciencean international congress on June 17 and 18 focused on teaching and the learning of Science and Technology in language foreign language.

Among the objectives of meeting is to analyze how the use of a non-native language affects teachers and students, and to test how learning science and/or technology in a foreign language boosts students' language skills.

In the words of the CLIL expert and member of the organizing and scientific committee , Ruth Breeze, "the professionals of the language teaching know that it is necessary to create a communicative dynamic on classroom that respects the learning ecology of language: the student must participate actively, not only listening but also speaking, reading, expressing himself in writing etc.. It is also very important that the student is supported with the difficulties he/she is experiencing at any given moment". In recent years, schools have been implementing and working on the approach CLIL (content learning in foreign language ). "This approach integrates content learning with the acquisition/learning of language. For well-implemented programs, the results are positive, and many teachers have told me about the advantages of approach CLIL/CLIL in terms of motivation, internationalization and creativity," says Breeze.

The international meeting planned for June aims to bring CLIL practitioners and researchers together at subject scientific, in order to share the latest research, promote good practices and discuss the practical and theoretical implications that arise at different educational levels, both at Education primary, secondary and higher education.

More and more content and foreign language integrated learning programs are being taught in the areas of Science and Technology. A program subject that, today, is found at practically all levels within the system educational, and in many European countries.

CLIL programs need to constantly adapt to the cutting edge in content and pedagogical research , so that students can acquire the learning skills that are increasingly important for the future. This is the context for Clil Science.
