"mobility and Amabilización del Casco Histórico y los Ensanches" is the forum that Diario de Navarra organized in its headquarters on March 6th, as a result of the measures that the City Council of Pamplona implemented in September last year.

Different groups met at goal to show a global vision of the consequences of these measures, and at the same time, they provided several solutions.

The director of the School of Architecture of the University of Navarra, Miguel Ángel Alonso del Val, started the discussion emphasizing the common good: "We must reach a pact between equals, changes must be sustained over time".

He also reviewed the most significant points of the city, highlighting its advantages and disadvantages: "Pamplona is still a fortress city, it is necessary to bet on combining a horizontal and vertical mobility ". And he added: "It is a city average, the same solutions cannot be applied as in big cities such as New York or Madrid; they must be a mix in which cars, cyclists, pedestrians and other agents coexist with each other".

Likewise, the director appealed to the fact that this is a "city of traditions","changes, well done, must be done in phases".

Also participating in this forum were Armando Cuenca, councilor of mobility of the Pamplona City Council; Pablo Goñi, president of the association of the Old Quarter of Pamplona; Olga Sarasa, merchant of the Primer Ensanche and Eneko Astigarraga, businessman and partner of Ciudadanos Ciclistas de la Comarca de Pamplona (CCCP).

After the first round of impressions, the turn of discussion was opened between speakers and guests attending as public.
