37 companies in Navarra are committed to the integration of people with disabilities in the workplace
The Confederation of Employers of Navarra, the University of Navarra and Fundación MAPFRE organize a workshop on employment and disability within the program "Together We Can". The session, entitled "The employment with support for people with intellectual disabilities or mental illness", will be held tomorrow, Thursday, at 12:30h, in the Civican Auditorium.
The opening ceremony will be attended by José Antonio Sarría, president of the Confederation of Entrepreneurs of Navarra; Maribel García Malo, director General Manager of the Navarra Service employment; Raúl Costilla, MAPFRE's regional general director in Navarra; Fernando Garrido Tomé, director of area of Social Action of Fundación MAPFRE; and President of the University of Navarra Alfonso Sánchez-Tabernero.
This will be followed by a presentation of the "Together We Can" program, through which 1,000 people with intellectual disabilities, mental illness and cerebral palsy have been able to achieve a work space. At present, 37 companies in Navarra are committed to the labor integration of people with disabilities.
After the presentation, will open the way to a roundtable on employment and disability, moderated by Sofía Collantes, coordinator of Tantaka, the solidarity time bank of the University of Navarra. Two people with disabilities, as well as three companies that have integrated workers into their workforce, will share their testimonies at roundtable .
In this workshop, which is celebrated on the eve of World Mental Health Day, also collaborate the department of Social Policies of the Government of Navarra and Care Centers for People with TMG Felix Garrido, Arga, Ordoiz and Queiles.
