Half a hundred of alumni of the School of Architecture attend the meeting Alumni in Madrid.

The main focus of meeting was the Horizon 2020 in the School and its new academic programs

Fifty alumni of the School of Architecture of the University of Navarra attended last June 9 in Madrid to the presentation "Horizon 2020 in the School, new academic programs", to position of its director Miguel Ángel Alonso del Val (ARQ'78, PdD'83).

The School of Architecture, following the 50th anniversary events, wanted to approach the alumni to explain first hand the new challenges facing the School, as well as the new Degree in design that will begin to be taught in the 2016-2017 academic year.

Alonso del Val highlighted the "renewal" at the School, "with a more open outlook and a commitment to the future aimed at providing student with tools to establish new connections with the world of business in a global environment".

The horizon for the next 5 years of the center is to enhance the internationalization design and innovation in a more interdisciplinary teaching ; to bet on new solidarity projects and to promote the partnership of the alumni.

Among the novelties, the director wanted to highlight the new Degree at design: "It is a proposal of the University to the world of the creative industry. The aim is to provide students with the basic knowledge to conceive, develop and execute a service of a diverse nature, from an event to an image campaign".

Professor Carlos Naya stressed that "this is the ideal time to launch this new Degree and fill in the commitment of the University of Navarra for creativity, as it has the necessary ingredients for it, with the ISEM Fashion Business School and the Museum of the University of Navarra".

This new bilingual Degree is aimed at creative, spatial-minded, trend-savvy students who love art and technology. It will start rolling next academic year 2016-2017 and will have three mentions in design of Product, design of Fashion and design of Services.

This was followed by a colloquium with the alumni, in which the professor and architect, Conrado Capilla, and the assistant director of Alumni, Maite Gil, also participated. The event ended with a cocktail party at the Hotel.
