Pamplona, without limits

Ángela Abascal Imízcoz (Arq'15), and César Ruiz León (Arq'14 and MDGAE '15) have result finalists of the 4th edition of the International Competition of development Urban and Inclusion, promoted by CAF, the Bank of Latin America development .
Its work has received one of the four mentions of this contest, which has valued the social inclusion measures and the regeneration proposal proposed by project . "Pamplona sin límites", which is the name of work, proposes sustainable measures of social inclusion through urban planning in a neighborhood of Lima (Peru), called Pamplona, where the social differences between the rich and the most disadvantaged are very present, even physically, through a barbed wire wall.
Advised by professors María Elena Lacilla and Juan Ramón Selva, and coordinated by professor José María Ordeig, the integration measures proposed by the young architects have been focused on mobilityThe integration measures proposed by the young architects have focused on: reducing road widths to create bicycle lanes and pedestrian areas; obtaining and management water through "fog catchers", which consists of a condensation system to obtain water by taking advantage of humidity; creating green areas that reinforce the relationship spaces; and planning based on"super blocks" to generate more orderly interior spaces.
A total of 127 proposals from 14 countries were submitted to this competition, and a first and second prize was awarded award, as well as four honorable mentions.
