Spanish architects Ángela García de Paredes and Ignacio García Pedrosa gave a lecture at lecture at the classroom Magna of the University of Navarra. School of Architecture of the University of Navarra in which they presented part of their work. The session was part of the 'Recent Work' series organized by the School to learn first-hand about the works of the main players in contemporary architecture.

Those responsible for the García de Paredes-García Pedrosa studio shared with the attendees and through slides the progress of several of their works, which place them in one of the first places in the national architectural panorama. They analyzed the construction of buildings such as the Archaeological Museum of Almería, the Olimpia Theater in the Lavapiés district of Madrid, the project adaptation of the archaeological site of the Roman Villa of La Olomeda, in Palencia, or the houses they are building in the neighborhood of Usera in Madrid.

National projects

The two projects that attracted most attention were the Museum of Almeria and the works at the Palencia site. In the first case, Ángela García de Paredes pointed out that the art gallery had an advantage since the capital of Almería has an interesting collection of Neolithic pieces. She also pointed out that marble from the province was used to construct the building, despite the fact that it is not usually used for construction.

For his part, Ignacio García Pedrosa commented on the origin of the mosaics that a farmer found thirty years ago on his land in the province of Palencia and that changed his life. "Now he has left farming and has become, at 80 years old, an archaeologist. He discovered the first piece by chance, while plowing the land, and little by little more pieces came out until the Government of Castilla y León decided to raise a roof in the area to build the now known Villa Roma de la Olmeda".

Ángela García de Paredes and Ignacio García Pedrosa collaborate with different specialized publications and several academic centers, including School of Architecture of the University of Navarra, where they participate in subjects in the last courses of degree program.
