The Chair of Heritage and Navarrese Art of the School of Philosophy and Letters of the University of Navarra has organized the cycle "Towers and bells". The course will take place on June 12, starting at 6 p.m., at the Palacio del Condestable.

The first session, which will revolve around the typologies of bell towers and their evolution from the average age to the present day, will be given by Professor Javier Azanza, under the degree scroll "Sentinels of brick and ashlar: a look at the bell towers of Navarre". For his part, Miguel Bañales will focus his discussion paper on "Bells: witnesses of local history".

Ricardo Fernández Gracia, director of the Chair de Patrimonio y Arte Navarro, has highlighted the value, both tangible and intangible, of the bells and towers, which "besides being tangible cultural assets, also hold many of the secrets of our intangible heritage".

Sponsored by the Government of Navarra, the activity is open to all audiences.
