The School of Architecture of the University of Navarra has hosted a seminar of wood construction organized by the School of Architecture and the Chair Madera, in partnership with the Government of Navarra, Foresna and Ademan.

The meeting , which was attended by architects Carlos Quintáns and Miguel Nevado, served to discuss the benefits of the use of wood in today's architecture and its possibilities.

In his speech, focused on the height limit of the Structures in wood, the architect Miguel Nevado stressed that "there are more buildings than we think built in wood", also stressed that the current limit is in the "14 floors of a building built in Bergen this year". Nevado has encouraged during his exhibition to "not be afraid to build with wood", and in this sense, he has declared: "It is not necessary to be an expert in the subject to construct a building with wood as the main material".

For his part, the architect Carlos Quintáns also said that wood is an element that retains time and, therefore, "is a factor to be taken into account" when building. Regarding its properties, he wanted to highlight the "dismountable and reusable" capacity of this material, which offers "a wide range of possibilities".

The Chair Madera bases its origin on the importance of an adequate management of the forest heritage, on the need to develop a culture of wood and to promote its use in construction applications and, especially, to give training on its use and possibilities in construction.
