coordinator José Roldán Ramírez, the regional transplant coordinator of Navarra, says that logistics is fundamental in organ transplants. "In each transplant, the coordinator has the task of organizing a movement of up to sixteen hours to ensure that the organs reach their destination," he explains. "Everything has to be calculated to the millimeter. If an organ arrives late, it could mean someone's life," says Roldán Ramírez.

The coordinator has described as "very good" the results of the Autonomous Community in organ donation. In both 2015 and 2016, Navarra was the third autonomous community that generated the most donations. In 2016 it reached a rate of 60.9 donors per million people, a figure only surpassed in the autonomous ranking by Cantabria (65.5) and the Basque Country (65.1). However, in spite of the good numbers, José Roldán Ramírez assured at the University of Navarra that the main challenge is to "achieve a list of donors that is as large as possible". challenge is to "achieve a zero waitinglist".

His statements are part of the workshop on logistics of organ transplants and drug transport organized by students of the School of Economics at partnership with the professor of the subject of Logistics, Pablo Mendivil.

The event, sponsored by the Chair of business VWNavarra - University of Navarra, was also attended by the director of Logistics and Purchasing of Laboratorios Cinfa, Alberto Bustamante Serrano; the director of Pharmacy of the Clínica Universidad de Navarra, Antonio Idoate García; and the coordinator of research and Innovation of the area Clínica del Corazón del Complejo Hospitalario de Navarra, Dr. Rafael Sádaba Sagredo.
