The School of Architecture of the University of Navarra hosts a sample of works by a generation of architects who began their career during the 60s and 70s; a period of profound social change and new conditions in architecture and cities.

First Works: Emerging Architectural Experimentation of the 1960s and 1970s, reproduces a exhibition curated by director of the Architectural Association (AA) of London, Brett Steele, and Francisco González de Canales. Initially, the exhibition of the AA of London, had original drawings and models, collecting a unique material from reference letter that the School of Architecture of the University of Navarra has tried to reproduce.

The sample presents projects by Archigram, Archizoom, Coop Himmelb(l)au, Peter Eisenman, Norman Foster, Richard Rogers, Zaha Hadid, Herzog & de Meuron, Steven Holl, Toyo Ito, Rem Koolhaas, Daniel Libeskind, Rafael Moneo, Morphosis, Renzo Piano, Price Cedric, Aldo Rossi, Alvaro Siza, Bernard Tschumi, Robert Venturi and Paul Virilio + Claude Parent.

A look at the origins of architecture

A goal core topic of this exhibition, which will close with a lecture by Brett Steele and Francisco González de Canales, is to trace the origins of contemporary architecture through the formative projects of its most celebrated figures. The works included allow students and architects to reconsider practices that were very innovative at the time and are more familiar today.

At a time when both architecture and the work of young architects are undergoing major changes, the exhibition provides a basis for reconsidering some of the world's most important and vital projects.
