Five new professors bring global expertise to School in Economics

Specialists in Economics, banking, marketing, entrepreneurship and Personnel Management Service from four different countries will join the academic staff

Five professors join the School of Economics full-time. The new professors who will contribute their academic excellence and commitment to students are: Alejandro Ruelas-Grossi (Mexico), Andrés Mesa (Colombia), Cristina Etayo (Spain), Diana Moras-Arenas (Mexico) and Marcel Meyer (Germany). They bring the total number of academics to 45.

Alejandro Ruelas-Grossi

A specialist in Strategy and Innovation, Globalization and Technology management , Alejandro Ruelas-Gossi is a professor at the University of Navarra, the University of Miami and the UCLA Anderson School of Management. advisor and lecturer for some of the largest Fortune 500 companies, such as Sony, Motorola, Microsoft, IBM, Philips and Cemex, his theory of Strategic Orchestration is considered one of the most impactful in cutting-edge strategic thinking. Ruelas-Gossi holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from Tecnológico de Monterrey (Mexico), a Master of Sciences (Management of Technology) from MIT and a PhD in Management (Strategy) from the University of North Carolina (Chapel Hill). Professor Ruelas-Gossi has written several articles for Harvard Business School Publishing. In 2007, his November 2006 article , "Strategy Orchestration", was selected as the most recommended article in Harvard Business Review Latin America.

Andrés Mesa

Andrés Mesa Toro is a professor of accounting and financial management at School of economics and business at the University of Navarra. His research is related to the financial stability of Banks and Credit Unions. He holds a PhD in Business Administration from the University of Navarra, where he also completed a Master in Economics and Business Administration.
Finance, he has been a visiting scholar and is currently an academic fellow at the Center for manager Banking and Finance at the University of St Andrews (Scotland). He also holds an MBA from the University of Bath (UK) and has more than 6 years of experience in the financial sector in Colombia. He has participated in several seminars and workshops related to his research in Spain, Europe and Canada.

Cristina Etayo

A specialist in media consumption and advertising, Cristina Etayo Pérez is Professor at the department of business of the School of Economic and Business Sciences of the University of Navarra, where she obtained her licentiate degree and her doctorate. Her research is developed around media consumption and advertising. He has made stays of research at the Universities of Berkeley, London School of Economics, Southampton and Kent. He has published forty articles and chapters in national and international journals and books.

Diana Moras-Arenas

A specialist in banking, access to financial services, and the effects of banking regulation on financial stability, Diana Morales Arenas is a professor of Investments in Financial Markets at the University of Navarra. She obtained her degree scroll degree in actuarial sciences from high school Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM). After the licentiate degree, she joined the department of macroeconomic analysis at area of research of the Central Bank of Mexico. research He attended two master's degree programs, the Master's in Finance at Bocconi University and the Master's in Business Finance at Tilburg University. Subsequently, he joined the department Finance program at Tilburg University as a PhD candidate, where he obtained his degree scroll PhD in Finance. He was a junior research fellow at the European Banking Center of Tilburg University. He worked at the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) and was part of the young researchers program of the National Bank of Belgium (NBB). He has lectured and advised at the Central Bank of Mexico, the Bank for International Settlements and the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond.  

Marcel Meyer

Specialist in Leadership, Organizational Psychology and Business Ethics Marcel Meyer is a professor of Political and Social Leadership and next semester will teach Business Ethics and Principles of Business Administration. Meyer studied International Business Administration at the University of Paderborn (Germany), writing his thesis on the management of international companies. In addition, he holds a Master's Degree in Business Administration from London Metropolitan University (England) and an MBA-I from Foro Europeo - Business School of Navarra. Marcel successfully completed his doctorate with accredited specialization international in 2017 at the University of Navarra. Prof. Meyer has worked as a language and culture coach in several companies such as VW, Liebherr, Gestamp and SAS.
