Urban space before and after the crisis
The School of Architecture of the University and the FH Dortmund collaborate on a project of research with students.
The School of Architecture of the University of Navarra and the Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts collaborate together in a project that works on reflecting on urban space and how the crisis has affected it. The project, funded by DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service), is called "Living after the crisis. People without places-Places without people" and has 10 students from each university.
The professors who attended project Christian Moczala and Claudia Rother, from the School of Dortmund, Elena Lacilla, Juan Ramón Selva and Javier Zulategui, from area of Urban Planning at ETSAUN, were responsible for leading the workshops that took place in the two cities. The workshops were held in Pamplona from May 21 to 25 and in Dortmund from August 24 to 30 and focused on the study of open spaces and the people who occupy them. Professor Elena Lacilla defined the experience as very positive: "Both teachers and students have learned from each other's way of doing things, as well as reflecting on current urban planning and how it has been affected by the crisis".
At this moment, students and teachers are working on extracting the conclusions of project that they have worked on at different scales.
