Jordi Bonet, architect of the Sagrada Familia, speaks at the University of Navarra on "The power of beauty in Gaudí". The session, held at School of Communication, is part of the activities prior to Forun 2012, a university congress to be held in March, which this year is about beauty and its transformative power.

Jordi Bonet, director of works of the Sagrada Familia, has been dedicated to the construction of Gaudí's monument for more than twenty years. His father, Lluís Bonet i Garí, preceded him in this same work. graduate in Architecture from the University of Barcelona and diploma holder in Housing Construction in the USA, he obtained, in 1965, the doctorate by the School of Architecture of Barcelona.

He was director general of Artistic and Cultural Heritage of the Generalitat de Catalunya between 1981 and 1984. Appointed in 1985 director of the works of the Sagrada Familia, he has introduced, at this stage, numerous computer advances in computer-aided engineering and computer-aided engineering design . In 1998 he was appointed president of the Acadèmia de Belles Arts de Sant Jordi and in 2001 he published L'Ultim Gaudí, a survey of Gaudí's work that offers an illustration of the geometric conception of the modernist architect. For this work he received the award Lluís Domenech i Montaner of research architectural, from high school of programs of study Catalans.

Jordi Bonet has been awarded, throughout his career, with numerous recognitions among which are the award City of Barcelona that he received in 1989 for the restoration of the Casa Garriga Nogués (1987); the Cross of Saint Jordi (1990); and the Cross of the Order of Alfonso X del Sabio, awarded by the Ministry of Education and Science in 2006.
