Peter Q. Bohlin, architect of Apple stores and Bill Gates' house, among other works, will give a Workshop on design in Wood from August 6 to 10, 2012 at School of Architecture of the University of Navarra. The activity will combine theoretical and practical sessions, which include the development of a project located in Pamplona.
His architectural firm, Bohlin Cywinski Jackson, has received more than 490 architectural awards, including numerous awards for wood construction. In 2010, Peter Q. Bohlin received the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Gold Medal, which honors individuals whose work has had a significant and lasting influence on the theory and internship of architecture. It is considered the highest honor in the profession that a person can receive in the United States.
The design Wood Workshop will be taught in English. It is one of the activities of the Chair Madera, a joint initiative of the Government of Navarra and the University of Navarra, and is part of the International Summer University organized by the University of Navarra. The deadline of registration closes on May 31. Those interested in participating must attach a curriculum and a portfolio of their work and projects.
