The University organizes conferences on the presence of the order of preachers in Navarre
Will take place on May 16 and 17
"Eight centuries of the presence of the Order of Preachers in Navarra, from the Gothic to the Baroque" is the title of of the is the degree scroll of the lecture series that the Chair of Heritage and Art of Navarre has organized for May 16 and 17 in the Church of the Dominican Fathers of Pamplona.
On Tuesday 16, the Prior of the Dominican Fathers of Pamplona, Jesús Galdeano, will speak on "The Dominicans in Navarra: a presence of eight centuries". Afterwards, Javier Martínez de Aguirre Aldaz, from the Complutense University of Madrid, will give a session entitled"Santo Domingo de Estella and the mendicant architecture of the 13th century" at degree scroll .
On Wednesday, May 17, Professor Ricardo Fernández Gracia, director of the Chair of Heritage and Navarrese Art of the University of Navarra, will offer the lecture "From the hand of the figurative arts and beyond the Dominican cloisters: the devotions". At 7 p.m., the organist of the cathedral of Pamplona, Julián Ayesa, will play tientos on the organ of the convent of Santo Domingo; and will close the workshop, María Josefa Tarifa, of the University of Zaragoza, with "The convents of Preachers of Tudela and Pamplona".
All conferences, with entrance free, will be held from 6 p.m. at the Church of the Dominican Fathers of Pamplona, 3 Mercado Street.
