The University of Navarra celebrates tomorrow, Friday 16, the third edition of the conference of Education Inclusive that will focus on "Roma youth: present and future of the Education".

This year, for the first time, Civivox Iturrama will host the event that will address the educational challenges faced by the Roma community, in a session given by Fernando Macías, professor of the School of Education of the University of Barcelona.

Then, the different intervention models will be explained in a roundtable formed by Flor Hernández and M. Carmen de Carlos, from the Federation of Gypsy Associations of Navarra Gaz Kaló; Itziar Zudaire and Sara Correia, from the Fundación Secretariado Gitano Navarra; Gabriela Calofir, from Médicos del Mundo de Navarra; and Soledad Aragón and Marisa Andrés, from the association de Gitanos de Tudela La Romaní.

Also, in the afternoon, a workshop will be held at position by Miguel Angel Franconetti and Amaranta Garre, from the Pere Closa Foundation, whose goal is to publicize the project around the Amaro Barvalipe Community, and reflect on the vision, experiences and challenges of young Gypsies in relation to the Education.

"The goal of these conference is twofold," explains professor and researcher Araceli Arellano. "On the one hand, to make known different experiences and ways of working with the Roma community, as well as the challenges of the inclusion of Roma youth in the educational, social and labor field. On the other hand, to generate a space for meeting, participation and work shared between professionals, students and young people from the Roma community".

The event, organized by the School of Education and Psychology, is part of the project of research "The transition to adulthood of young people from the Roma community of Navarra", in which the Federation of Roma Associations of Navarra, Gaz Kaló, collaborates closely. Also, the workshop is sponsored by Fundación Caja Navarra, Obra Social La Caixa and the UNED.
