Students from Degree at design of the University of Navarra and apprentices from the Volkswagen Academy have recently completed a course on and Painting. School of Architecture of the University of Navarra and apprentices of Volkswagen Academy have recently completed a project of partnership on design and Painting. The university students have made 22 camouflage proposals for the Volkswagen Polo, and the students of the factory's training center have represented one of them on the hood of a vehicle.

This project is part of the partnership existing between the University of Navarra and Volkswagen Navarra, and has allowed students of both entities to deepen in aspects corresponding to design and Painting, such as color, shades and intensities. The result of the project and a selection of the works made by the students of design will be shown in a exhibition that will take place in the Civivox Iturrama next June.

Two stages for a project

In the first phase, the students of Degree at design worked with painter Alejandro Häsler on their camouflage proposals for the Volkswagen Polo. A total of 22 works were produced at fill in , using photomontages and technical drawings, and printed on panels measuring 59.4 by 84.1 centimeters each.

Subsequently, the proposals were transferred to Volkswagen Navarra where one of them was selected to be embodied in the hood of a Volkswagen Polo produced in the Navarre facilities. Thus, after 2 months of work, the apprentices of Volkswagen Academy made one of the designs from the School of Architecture of the University of Navarra a reality.

"For first-year students, the results obtained have been frankly good," says Víctor Larripa, professor at Degree at design, while Elisa Salvador, from area Human Resources at Volkswagen Navarra, emphasizes "the importance of giving students real examples for painting jobs."

teaching linked to the professional reality

The Degree at design, whose first course is taught entirely in English, is structured by umbrella projects, covering all subjects. This year, eight projects have been carried out and each one of them has worked on a theme: Typography, Color, Patterns, Scale, Material, Seriation, Packaging and Recycling.

For their development, the students have had the support of professionals specialized in each of the topics, such as Octavio Pardo, Alejandro Häsler, Miriam Ocáriz, Manolis Stavrakakis, Fabrizio Pierandrei, Tim Karoleff, Marta Bernstein and Francesco Faccin; and in some projects, with the partnership of companies, as is the case of Volkswagen Navarra.

For its part, Volkswagen Academy, inaugurated in 2012, is currently developing the fifth promotion of its Apprentice Program, in which 23 young people from different Degrees of training Professional receive, under the model of training dual German , two years of theoretical teaching and internship in the Navarre factory. Since its start-up, the program has had 102 participants.
