Naidile Umashankar Patel is from Bangalore, South India, and is the first student from this city to come to study at the University and she has achieved it thanks to a scholarship Alumni. This year she has started studying the Degree in bilingual Economics and at 18 years old she is very clear about what she wants to do with this training, her passion for Economics and mathematics and the goal to continue building her country.

"Every second I remember that I am here thanks to the scholarship, and I must make them feel that it was worth it."

Why do you study at the University of Navarra? How did you discover it?

I study here because I want to have an international degree scroll at Economics from a prestigious university and, at the same time, improve my knowledge of different types of culture and improve my Spanish. I discovered it through the Internet, plus my college counselor back home knew about it and encouraged me to look into it. The admissions delegate from the University in India also visited my school which helped me understand more about the institution. One of the other things that encouraged me the most to come here was my desire to study abroad.

What do you like most about your degree program? Why did you decide to study it?

The Economics and mathematics have always been my favorite subjects. In school I was good at them and I knew I had to take advantage of this luck. I decided to study it because I believe it is a science that helps us financial aid understand our daily activities. In addition, it has a lot of potential in the world we live in, which is constantly changing and fast moving. The Economics is a fundamental part of understanding what is going on and how human beings function. Money changes places very easily. What I like most about my degree program is the intensity of mathematics, as we have many subjects in which it is the fundamental building block, plus the internship opportunities available to students for further education.

What would you ask the University of Navarra in your training? What would you say to someone who is thinking of coming to study here?

For my part, I hope to graduate with excellent grades. I also hope that the University will help me to keep my values intact, to continue cultivating them and to value everything around me, since the possibility of being close to excellent and hardworking people here is multiplied. I would tell them that this has been one of the best decisions I have made in my life, that it is a great place to study, where all the attention is focused on the student. Getting an international degree scroll from this University means a lot in whatever field of work you move in. It is known how prestigious it is, as it is one of the top ranked in terms of employability. I really enjoy the campus available to us and what I like most is its connection with nature. There is a lot of greenery around and it offers places that give you peace and help you study better.

Who do you thank for the opportunity to study here? Studying with a scholarship will help you financial aid to evaluate what you are doing?

I thank my parents for this great effort, because they have given me the opportunity to study here even though they never could. My way of thanking them will be to get a degree scroll with exceptional grades and get a work in a prestigious organization. I applied for the scholarship Alumni because it was almost the only option I had to come here and getting it means a lot and financial aid me to value more my programs of study. Every second I remember that I am here because of it and I must make the University feel that it was worth giving me the scholarship to study. I have a commitment to have the scholarship Alumni, I would not want those who collaborate to feel disappointed.

What service do you want to give to society? Do you want to change the world?

I want to improve the conditions of work in my city, and help the budget and the benefits that are achieved can improve the infrastructure both materially and socially. Changing the world for me is subjective. I want to do it, but I have not yet figured out how I would like to add value. I am sure that over the next four years I will begin to focus my goals. I do have one thing clear though: to help people discover their purpose in this world.
