"It is important never to lose sight of the fact that the value of a business is its people", stressed Íñigo Alfaro, director Human Resources Manager at Vestas, during the eighth session of the cycle 'My experience managing people' at the Master's Degree at Personnel Management Service in Organizations of the School of Economics.

Throughout his exhibition, Alfaro explained to those present the structure of his business and emphasized that the mission statement of department Human Resources is to give added value to the entire business. The director assures that "automation does not mean that people are left behind".

"When a change of position is necessary - he continues - at Vestas we always put people first, before business needs or the interests of business".

As for technology, Alfaro stated that it is important to make the most of it, applying it to the management of the usual operations, in order to facilitate tasks and allow information to be available to everyone.

On the other hand, the Human Resources director points out that in order to successfully carry out one's own professional pathway it is important to identify the strengths of each person, to have something to offer and exploit it, and to use the professional relationships linked to these strengths.
