27 portraits of the academic staff of the School of Architecture of the University of Navarra dress the entrance hall of the Academic Center since last May 24, and will be exhibited until next June 23. They are portraits of all the hired and active professors who finished the degree program before 1988, which is when the author, José María Ordeig Corsini, joined the School as a professor.

His portraits are characterized by expression, focusing on the eyes and mouth and downplaying the importance of facial structure (width, length, cheeks, jaw, nose, etc.). "The eyes are complicated because they are the same in everyone, but what distinguishes each one is the structure of the wrinkles that form around them. The same as in the mouth, which, in addition to identifying the person, sample the usual expression of joy or anger or sadness. That's what I'm after. That's why it can't be done from life (against the academics), but from photography or retentive", says José María.

In addition, the author tries to "capture that expression with as few strokes as possible. Sometimes I make mistakes and they are grade. But it is about simplifying the painting".

The paintings that the professor has donated to the School, whose definitive location is yet to be defined, become part of the artistic heritage of the School and continue the initiative that Professor Luis Borobio had during the summer of 1981, who created 10 caricatures that have decorated the School's cafeteria for many years.
