Professor María Angélica Martínez joins the Mexican Society of Geography and Statistics.

Angélica teaches at Degrees design and Architecture at the University of Navarra.

María Angélica Martínez, professor and researcher at the School of Architecture of the University of Navarra, joined the Mexican Society of Geography and Statistics (Durango correspondent) last August. With the admission the professor will be part of a scientific society that focuses on the research multidisciplinary and its knowledge dissemination.

The researcher gave the lecture "Architecture in Durango. Library Services Fuentes e Influencias en sus edificios más relevantes" (Architecture in Durango. Sources and Influences in its most relevant buildings) during the entrance ceremony that took place on August 14 at the Central Public Library "Lic. José Ignacio Gallegos". In her speech, speaker also presented the results of her research on Spanish-American Architecture between the 17th and early 20th centuries.

Angélica Martínez is currently the director of the "Drawing Architecture through Spain" Program. Her research focuses mainly on Hispanic American Architecture and design and its synergies with Spain and Europe. She is also a member of the association Spanish Americanists (AEA) and researcher attached to the high school of programs of study Riojanos (IER).

The Mexican Society of Geography and History is the first scientific and cultural society created in America. Founded in 1833, it currently has researchers, academics and professionals of very diverse specialties. There are fifty Corresponding Societies with headquarters in the main cities of the Mexican Republic and in other countries.
