"A management manager of Human Resources implies the inclusion of people with disabilities."

Ilunion, Danone, Gestamp and AMX Consulting participate in the conference Sectorial 'Human Resources' organized by ISSA School of Applied Management.

"A management manager of Human Resources implies the inclusion of people with disabilities". This was stated by Esther Díaz, Director of People at Ilunion, at the lecture given at ISSA School of Applied Management on the occasion of the 'Human Resources' Sectorialconference .

In addition to Díaz, three other HR specialists from Danone, Gestamp and AMX Consulting shared with the students the details of their professional work: the day-to-day work of their work, the opportunities and challenges faced by the organizations they represent, as well as the road they have traveled to get to where they are.

Held between March 6 and 14, these sessions are part of the extracurricular training that ISSA School of Applied Management offers its students. "Theconference Sectorial aim to bring students closer to the real dimension of different professional fields to which students of the Degree in management Applied can dedicate themselves in the future", explains Antonio María Fernández, director of development of the academic center.

Esther Diaz. Director of People, Ilunion

"Our purpose is to build a better world with everyone included, to advance as a society without leaving anyone behind." As Chief People Officer of one of the Spanish companies with the largest number of employees issue , Esther Diaz 41% of the company's workforce, and the Ilunion has a disability subject : "Our success is achieved by putting people at the center, trusting and betting on diversity and inclusion as a wealth".

With a workforce of almost 40,000 employees, during his lecture Díaz stressed that Ilunion's goal is to make everyone feel an important part of the organization. But he goes further: "Although at the beginning, the company only focused on people with disabilities, we now also offer opportunities to vulnerable groups, such as the homeless".

He added that the core topic axis of the business he represents is to achieve a satisfactory employee experience: "Happy employees, happy customers". To achieve this, the tasks assumed by the more than 16,000 employees who have a disability subject are chosen on a personalized basis and after a process of analysis. In turn, they also offer accompaniment through a support unit technician to ensure that the experience is positive for everyone.

Díaz also pointed out that diversity in a business does not necessarily mean inclusion: "It's like a puzzle: it's not enough to have the pieces, the challenge is to make them fit naturally into the whole". Díaz also remarked that the values of respect and solidarity are fundamental at Ilunion: "We must be exemplary, as we are aware that many organizations see us as a business model that is not only profitable from an economic point of view, but also from a social point of view".

Vanesa Berrido. Head of Talent Brand & Acquisition, Danone

Vanesa Berrido has been with department Human Resources for fifteen years. Danone. This journey has allowed him to see how the sector has evolved, witnessing the changing trends in the needs and demands of workers as result of demographic changes, the technological revolution, the growing climate awareness or geopolitical and economic disruptions that have occurred in recent years, among others.

Aware of this, during her speech Berrido explained how Danone has developed a strategy focused on five macro trends that have a direct impact on its employees: training, mental health, flexibility, relationship with work and corporate responsibility. In this regard, Danone's Head of Talent Brand & Acquisition explained that "a person spends a third of the day at work, half of the waking hours a day, so achieving a good working environment is essential".

Berrido also shared with the students the strategy that signature has implemented to update the perception of Danone as a place to work: "The goal is to publicize the culture of business to attract young talent, showing Danone as what we want it to be, a business school in which to continue training and grow".

Nora Melero. Compensation and Benefits, Gestamp

Nora MeleroBenefits & Compensation Manager at Gestampis a graduate of ISSA School of Applied Management. Despite his youth, before joining the multinational company dedicated to design, development and the manufacture of automotive components, Melero worked for L'Oréal and Inditex. In this regard, the speaker wanted to start her speech by advising those present: "It never hurts to listen to the proposals that come your way; staying open to change allows you to discover new opportunities that can change your life."

During his lecture, Melero explained that the department he leads is divided into four areas: compensation, job architecture system, mobility internal and benefits. She also said that Gestamp has grown exponentially in recent decades and is currently going through a stabilization phase. For her, this is a challenge that she is excited to face.

Regarding the challenges he faces on a daily basis, Melero confessed that "in a business with more than 42,000 employees divided into 115 industrial plants around the world, the most complicated thing is to centralize functions and standardize processes for all workers, since the reality of different countries often justifies different ways of doing things".

Antonio Moya. Headhunter / Founder and CEO, AMX Consulting

Antonio Moyaheadhunter, founder and CEO of AMX Consultingexplained the process a headhunter faces in the search for the "perfectcandidate ". He emphasized the fact that this profession requires "working with people who have interests and concerns", so he stressed the importance of "finding the motivations of the candidates, which change throughout life".

When asked about the ideal path to becoming a headhunter, Moya shared with attendees that there are two ways to make this journey. The first, a "quick" way that starts with a degree program of consultant junior or researcher in a signature of consultancy service; the second, the one that involves going through and having experience in what, for him, are the three most important vectors in the world of Human Resources: knowing the world of the university, having experience in consultancy service and having worked in the private business .

During his lecture, Moya warned that confidentiality and discretion are two fundamental characteristics of his work: "The best thing that can happen to a headhunter is that it is not known that he was behind a process".

Finally, Moya shared with the students some tips for, in the future, interacting with a headhunter: "Incredible as it may seem, the first thing is to answer the phone; the second thing is to have an active listening attitude towards proposals, regardless of your interest in changing course at that moment; the third thing is to have your LinkedIn profile updated with the right words core topic oriented to the professional field in which you would like to work; finally, maintain good relationships with HR professionals who, sooner or later, can help you find a job change."
