The 4th year students of Degree in Pharmacy have organized a exhibition with 15 informative scientific posters on the occasion of the World Antibiotic Awareness Week, which is celebrated from November 18 to 24. "The body's resistance towards antibiotics is a widespread problem, which occurs when there is an overuse of them. The system gets used to it and the medicine stops having an effect," explains Gabriel Reina, professor of "Analysis and Diagnosis at laboratory".

Kevin Sainz, student of the subject, explains that "the goal of this project is to make society aware of this problem, since in the not too distant future it could become one of the main causes of death". For this reason, he recommends five guidelines for the best possible use of this medication:

  1. Always use them under medical prescription.

  2. Do not self-medicate.

  3. Do not reuse antibiotics from previous treatments.

  4. Do not use in case of bacterial infection.

  5. Completion of the entire treatment.

The exhibition can already be visited on the trans-Siberian linking the Sciences Building with the Edificio Los Castaños and will be available until Wednesday, November 24.
