The University of Navarra closed the I Edition of the Excellence Program, an initiative that the academic center has launched with the high school Irabia of Pamplona, and that intends to be implemented in other educational centers in future editions. The academic direction of the program corresponds to the School of Philosophy and Letters.

This program, in which 20 students have participated, is aimed at students from high school diploma and its goal is the development of skills for university and professional life, so that young people can face their future programs of study from a privileged position.

During two courses the young people carry out different activities aimed at fostering several aspects: intellectual maturity; academic, staff and professional excellence for a better service to society; a humanistic vision of the social, economic and scientific aspects of reality; habits of intellectual rigor, dialogue and argumentation, as well as critical capacity and interest in the truth; and a global vision of the complex and changing world of today's status to acquire a firm commitment to the improvement of society.

During the closing workshop took place the presentation of the works of research that the students prepared throughout the year. The event was attended by the director of high school Irabia, Mikel Elía, the academic director of the Excellence Program, José María Torralba, and the Vice-Dean of School of Philosophy and Letters, Rosa Fernández Urtasun.
