The University of Navarra has created the Office of development, and Juan Gimeno has been appointed as its head. The aim is to continue improving the task of fundraising or development, which has existed at campus since its origins.

The University of Navarra is a non-profit social initiative. Income from student tuition only covers the costs of teaching. In order to finance research , the University seeks the corresponding public and private grants, as well as individuals and institutions that understand and are committed to project. In addition, since its beginnings, the University has counted on partnership from numerous individuals and companies that help finance scholarships for Degree and postgraduate program, collaborate in the construction of new buildings by means of donations or contributions, etc. In this regard, special attention should be given to association de Amigos, created in 1960 and since then financial aid to support the University. Now it is intended to remodel the task of development, while complementing and strengthening the fundraising work of the association of Friends.

For example, thanks to resources obtained from the activity of development of the University and the association of Friends, during 2013 5.1 million euros have been allocated to Alumni Scholarships, masters and doctorate; 7.6 million euros to various projects of research and 1.4 million euros to new infrastructures. "These amounts reflect the social financial aid received by the University, which I take this opportunity to thank. The generosity of many people and companies allows us to have the ideal means for the task professor, research and assistance" says the Administrator, Igor Errasti. "At the moment -he adds- the University is immersed in new projects that require more financial aid to carry them out".
