Three graduates from School of Architecture give a talk on rehabilitation and accessibility, organized by COAVN Navarra.

Three graduates of the School of Architecture (ETSA) of the University of Navarra will participate in the talk-colloquium 'The value of rehabilitation and accessibility in architecture today', organized by the Navarre delegation of the high school Official Basque-Navarre Architects (COAVN). It will take place on Thursday, November 24, at 7 p.m. at entrance hall of the collegiate headquarters in Pamplona.

Alberto Calvo is manager of the Rehabilitation Office of the Pamplona City Council since 1996 and director of Pamplona Centro Histórico since 2011. Between 1992 and 1996 he worked in the area of Urbanism and Housing of the Pamplona City Council. Previously he developed his professional work in the construction field. He is graduate in Technical Architecture by the University School of Technical Architecture of Burgos and graduate in Engineering of the Building by the ETSA of the University of Navarra, where he is Adjunct Professor. He has completed his training with courses in rehabilitation, Building, safety and occupational hazards or rules and regulations urban planning, among others.

Architects Iñigo Beguiristain and Iñaki Bergera have been working at partnership since 2005 under the signature Beguiristain Bergera Arquitectos. They have received, among others, the award COAVN 2010, the award Saloni of Interior Architecture 2006 (finalists in 2009 and 2010), the award of design of the Chamber of Commerce 2010 and the designation as finalists of the FAD Awards 2010. Their projects have also won awards in various national and local competitions and are regularly published in specialized magazines. Iñigo Beguiristain is an architect (1998) by the ETSA of the University of Navarra, and Iñaki Bergera is an architect (1997) and PhD (2002) by the ETSA of the University of Navarra and Master's Degree with award extraordinary by the Harvard GSD (2002).

This activity is part of the exhibition "PREMIOS FAD 2010", which brings together the winning and finalist works in the FAD Awards for Architecture and Urbanism 2010. The competition is organized by ARQUINFAD, the association Interdisciplinary Space design of Foment de les Arts Decoratives, and its aim is to goal promote avant-garde trends in the field of architecture and urbanism.

Among the finalists in the 52nd edition of these awards are two works by Navarrese authors. On the one hand is the Archaeological Museum of Alava, in Vitoria, by Patxi Mangado, professor at the ETSA of the University of Navarra, which has been selected in the category of "Architecture". In the "Interior Design" category, a project to eliminate architectural barriers in the building located at Pío XII 29 in Pamplona (portal for housing), carried out by Iñigo Beguiristain and Iñaki Bergera, was distinguished.
