The 6th FYM-HeidelbergCement Group Competition is now open

The author of the winning project will obtain a scholarship to attend the Master's Degree in design Architectural of the School of Architecture

The School of Architecture of the University of Navarra and FYM-HeidelbergCement Group announce the 6th FYM-HeidelbergCement Group Contest, which rewards the project that, due to its quality, innovation, originality or creativity, best highlights the use of concrete within an architectural project in Urroz-villa (Navarra).

The competition is aimed at any architecture student who is enrolled and submits their project Fin de Degree/degree program (TFG/PFC) during the academic year 2016-2017 and to any architect recently graduate, with a maximum of three years of professional practice counted from the date of approval of the TFG.

In order to apply for the competition, the free registration free of charge. The deadline to send the documentation is May 3, 2017.

A jury made up of two professors from School of Architecture of the University of Navarra, representatives from FYM-HeidelbergCement Group and two other prestigious architects will meet during the month of May to analyze the proposals submitted and decide on the award. The author of the winning project will obtain a scholarship to attend the Master's Degree in design Architectural taught at campus Pamplona.

The scholarship winner of last year's competition was Alejandro Puente, from SEK International University in Ecuador. His project for the construction of a viewpoint at the Balcón de Pilatos in the Sierra de Urbasa, in Navarra, planned a subway infrastructure that simulated an artificial grotto with the goal of not breaking with the landscape. The winner used i.active EFFIX ARCA concrete as the basic material for its project and was distinguished for the quality, innovation, originality and creativity in the use of concrete as an important component in the design of the design of its work.

In the fifth edition of this competition, young people from Spain, Argentina, Colombia, Peru and Ecuador registered, and on previous occasions architects from the Polytechnic University of Valencia, the European University of Madrid, the Catholic University of Chile and the University of Granada have won.
