"We think that being the most competitive is being the cheapest, but that's a mistake." This was stated by the professor of Innovation at the School of Economics and expert in business orchestration, Alejando Ruelas-Gossi, in meeting of alumni of the School of Economics, in which more than fifty alumni from different promotions participated.

Ruelas-Gossi believes that in recent years the concept of competitiveness has been poorly defined. In this sense, the expert believes that it is a mistake to promote a low price war. "The only way to achieve low prices is to pay employees and suppliers less," he said.

As a solution to this problem, Ruelas-Gossi proposes what he calls 'The Race to the Top' ( degree program to cima), a mix between innovation and development. In this sense, the expert asserts that successful companies are those that target the highest segment, orchestrate their products and know how to tell stories. Ruelas-Gossi gives as an example the case of Apple during the Steve Jobs era, which stood out for its innovation through the design experience of Username and for the orchestration of its products through apps.

MEETING OF ALUMNI OF THE SCHOOL OF ECONOMICS

During the annual meeting held on May 9 at the new campus of the University of Navarra in Madrid, alumni were also able to reminisce about their experiences at campus in Pamplona. "This is a great opportunity to reconnect with people with whom you have coincided during the degree program and at the same time meet people who have a much longer career than yours," said Isabel Fernandez (ECO+DER'18).
