Diana Chow, PhD student in Art History at the University of Navarra, is one of the curators of the sample "Portraits of China". The exhibition, which can be visited at the Citadel of Pamplona until January 11, brings together 55 images selected from more than 5,900 photographs from the collection held by the University of Bristol.

The images are exhibited for the first time in Spain and aim to highlight the contrast between tradition and modernity, as well as the contrast between life in the countryside and the city.

For this purpose, a chronological line has been followed from 1875 to 1945, with snapshots taken by British and French photographers that reflect both the presence of foreigners and the commercial and modern side of China.

This sample is included in the program of the IV conference of the Chinese World organized by the network Navarra de programs of study Chinos. Among the activities planned, Diana Chow will give a lecture in which she will address the topics of traditional Chinese architecture and its western influence, as well as trends in clothing.
