2014_01_24_ICS_Se buscan voluntarios para una investigación sobre la toma de decisiones cuando se ofrece una recompensa a cambio de un esfuerzo físico
Volunteers are sought for a research on decision making.
The project 'Mind-Brain' of the ICS will study brain activity when a reward is offered in exchange for physical effort, with non-invasive techniques in university students between 19 and 25 years of age.
The project Mind-Brain of the Institute for Culture and Society (ICS) of the University of Navarra is looking for volunteers to participate in a research that aims to study the areas of the brain involved in decision-making when considering obtaining a reward in exchange for physical effort. Right-handed university students between 19 and 25 years old can collaborate.
This research, led by the biologist Javier Bernácer, is based on the study of brain activity through Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging, techniques that are non-invasive and do not involve radiation.
The tests will be performed at the department of Neurology of the University. Clínica Universidad de Navarra and will be repeated after carrying out a gentle physical exercise plan at the University's gym for 3 months, free of charge for the volunteers. Volunteers will also receive a CD with an image of their brain.
goal: better understanding of the brainDuring the study, ICS researchers will visualize the brain areas that are activated when considering obtaining a reward in exchange for physical effort. The goal is to understand which Structures brain areas are involved in the task of weighing different offers and choosing one.
Young people willing to collaborate can contact Dr. Bernácer at contact by e-mail jbernacer@unav.es or telephone 948 42 56 00 (extension 803416).
