"Career Management Week gives students a real insight into the job market."

"Career Management Week provides students with a real vision of the labor market". This was highlighted by Borja Godino (ECO'12) during the second edition of this week of training at career guidance and preparation for selection processes in which the alumni of the School of Economics shared their work experiences in the sectors of: Technology and Start-ups, Industry and Energy, Banking and Finance, FMCG and consultancy service and Audit. Godino, former student and employee of El Corte Inglés Digital, encouraged the students to participate in this subject of activities and to contact the alumni of the School for apply for career guidance in the different sectors.

Patricia Feliu (ECO'12), LNG Trader at Naturgy, considers that ADE is a very flexible degree program that allows you to work in almost any sector, so she believes that "being able to see firsthand, from the experience of alumni, how the labor market works is something that brings a lot of value".

Similarly, Gonzalo Larrondo (ECO'10), Construction project control specialist at Siemens-Gamesa, believes that Career Management Week provides a knowledge that is very difficult to acquire in the classroom: the specific knowledge of what companies are really looking for.About the selection processes, to which many of the students have already applied, Larrondo stressed: "Do interviews to get to know yourselves and to find out how they work". He also advised them: "Do an internship, don't wait until you graduate to start working.

Likewise, Ernesto Rodrigo (ECO-DER'10), Manager in Corporate Finance at EY, stressed: "In interviews it is important to be natural and be aware of who you are and where you are". In these cases Cayetana Pajares (ECO'15) Senior Auditor at Deloitte believes that "the most important thing is the attitude, not the aptitude, that is acquired with experience".

Preparation for the employment

Participants were also able to take part in the preparation sessions for the future employment given by Career Services of the University of Navarra and Adecco training. The activity offered students workshops with the necessary tools to successfully pass employment interviews and make the most of the dynamics of group. As well as other sessions of training which explained the steps to develop a resume and how to improve and brand staff in social networks.

Career Management Week is an activity organized by the School of Economics of the University of Navarra and this year was attended by more than 200 students and 19 alumni from about twenty national and foreign companies.
