A total of 25 Human Resources managers met last April 25 for the presentation of the Master's Degree in Personnel Management Service in Organizations (MDPO) that will be offered by the University of Navarra, starting in September, at its new campus in Madrid.

"The move of the Master's Degree to the capital offers us the opportunity to strengthen our Study program in aspects linked to the function of the Departments of Personnel Management Service, mainly in the attraction of talent, the development of people or compensation". This was explained by the director academic of Master's Degree and professor of the School of Economics of the University of Navarra, Javier Arellano.

For his part, the director of the new headquarters and former President of the University of Navarra, Ángel Gómez Montoro, said that the programs that are already in Madrid and those that, with the opening of the new campus, will be transferred are "masters that are fundamentally focused on the practice of a profession". "The new campus - continued Montoro - will make it easier to have professionals who can collaborate with these masters".

At the same time, the University also wants to strengthen its network alumni in Madrid. In this sense, the director stated that this new space will be a point of meeting between alumni and professors of the University, in addition to being a good opportunity to offer courses of training continuous in the capital.

The presentation, which took place in the Clínica Universidad de Navarra in Madrid, was attended by executives from BBVA, Cuatrecasas, Deloitte, EY, group Cofares, group Compass, Korn Ferry, Leroy Merlin, Mediaset, Unidad publishing house and Vestas.

A people-centered Master's Degree

The Master's Degree, which this year celebrates its seventh year, is designed for graduates in Economics, Business Administration, Humanities, Law, Engineering, or degrees such as Psychology or Social Sciences who wish to focus their professional degree program towards the world of Personnel Management Service.

Regarding the content of the MDPO, the Dean of the School of Economics, Ignacio Ferrero, assured that "this Master's Degree connects directly with the core curriculum of the University of Navarra and offers the student knowledge that allows them to make the leap from Human Resources to Personnel Management Service: to stop considering a person as a resource to understand them as the center of the organization".
