Last June 15 took place the defense of the doctoral thesis : "The nature of conjugal love from lived experience. A phenomenological-hermeneutic research according to Max van Manen".presented by Katherine Zambrano Yaguana, and directed by Dr. José Antonio Jordán Sierra of the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona, and Dr. Alfonso Osorio de Rebellón, professor at the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona, and Dr. Alfonso Osorio de Rebellón, professor at the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona. School of Education and Psychology of the University of Navarra.

With this research a research on an aspect of great importance in relation to our human existence, such as conjugal love, has been proposed. In order to investigate and discover as well as possible this phenomenon, the work starts from a question core topic: What "is" the essential nature of conjugal love? To answer this question from a phenomenological perspective, the doctor relied on this other question: How is the experience of conjugal love lived in an authentic way?

The central purpose of this research has been, in particular, to identify and describe some of the most essential features of the nature of conjugal love through phenomenological-hermeneutical reflection based on the lived experience of married couples. To this end, first of all, a theoretical approach to the phenomenon of conjugal love has been carried out, based on an anthropological-philosophical-theological-doctrinal approach .

Secondly, the topic is approached through the application of a phenomenological-hermeneutic approach , based specifically on the phenomenology of Max van Manen's internship . With this methodological orientation, a field study has been carried out with 29 married couples from different parts of Spain, obtaining from such participants a very rich experiential material about their own experiences of conjugal love.

The primary resources used for the collection of the "data" (human experiences) were: personal descriptions of lived experiences (anecdotes) and interviews. In addition, other complementary sources such as, for example, experiential descriptions from literature, as well as other art resources have been employee . Philosophical, philological and reflective methods inspired by some of those of the human sciences were used for the analysis employee . After the process of analysis and writing, a significant issue of essential aspects of conjugal love have been identified.

Thirdly, and as a result of the reflective analysis of the experiential material, a Phenomenological Text has been written, with a rich formative potential, which describes a profound approach to the essential nature of conjugal love, based on the lived experience of married couples.

The thesis obtained the grade of A Cum Laude and the tribunal was composed as follows: as president, Dr. Tomás Melendo Granados, and as members: Dr. Delio del Rincón Igea, Dr. María del Rosario Reparaz Abaitua and Dr. Juan de Dios Larrú Ramos. administrative assistant Dr. María Begoña Errasti Ibarrondo.
