Two University students receive scholarships from the Amancio Ortega Foundation to train as teachers in Canada

Marta Hidalgo and Lucía Pernas, MUP graduates, have won two of the 50 places.

Marta Hidalgo, 23 years old, from Pamplona, has won one of the 50 scholarships that the Amancio Ortega Foundation Foundation awards for teacher training in Canada. The young woman has a degree in History and Journalism from the University of Navarra. This year she obtained the Master's Degree in faculty (MUP) at the School of Education and Psychology of the same academic institution, and completed a teaching internship at the Internationalhigh school diploma of a high school in England. "I am delighted with the result and I am looking forward to going to Canada," she said.

Lucía Pernas from A Coruña has also won one of these scholarships. Graduated in Biology from the University of Navarra, the previous year she studied the Master's Degree in faculty and did an internship in high school diploma International in a high school in Madrid.

The Program is aimed at graduates of Spanish universities with a Master's Degree in Secondary Education faculty training and high school diploma, professional training and language teaching . It offers a specific training course during an academic year in Canada, in partnership with the Ottawa-Carleton school district.

From September to December, participants will receive training on cross-cutting educational methodologies and innovative educational systems. Through different pedagogical axes, they will acquire skills and abilities that can be applied to all curricular subjects. They will also attend daily English classes for their use professor and an approach to the Canadian system educational .

After the first theoretical period, from January to May, the members will carry out a professional internship at language English, joining as visiting teachers at the public network of Education Canadian secondary school. Under the supervision of a tutor, who will monitor their practice, they will participate in the academic and faculty life of their school.
