Last Thursday, November 16, the Marketing and Sales Club at School of Economics was attended by Javier Chércoles, director of "The Simon Project" at Associated British Foods (Primark) and former Director of Corporate Social Responsibility at Inditex. During the session, Chércoles explained to the students of the University of Navarra the formula he has devised to offer cheap life insurance, subsidized by the companies themselves, to protect workers in the Third World.

The creation of a formula to quantify how much it costs companies to insure the lives of employees in places such as Bangladesh, India or Burma is the project developed by this expert in corporate social responsibility. The expert assures that his formula seeks to give value to something that until then had no value, the human being.

Chércoles has dedicated his professional degree program to trying to improve the working conditions of textile workers in developing countries development. After working for Inditex, business for ten years, Chércoles was hired by Primark's parent company business , Associated British Foods. The British business acquired his insurance formula after the collapse of the Rana building place, in Bangladesh, which claimed the lives of 1128 people.
