The Navarre delegation of the high school Oficial de Arquitectos Vasco-Navarro (COAVN), the School of Architecture of the University of Navarra and the Pamplona City Council have planned several activities for October 6, 7 and 8, on the occasion of World Architecture and Habitat Day.

Two guided bus tours of the most emblematic buildings built jointly by Fernando Redón and Javier Guibert, which constituted the beginning of the modern movement (1960s and 1970s) in Pamplona; a lecture by Patxi Mangado to inaugurate the exhibition retrospective of his work at the Palacio del Condestable; and a new edition of the "Draw Pamplona" competition for schoolchildren are the main activities of the "Architecture for all" program, which will be held in Pamplona and other parts of Navarra.

Bringing architecture closer to the public
"The goal is to raise awareness and bring architecture and the work of architects and urban planners closer to all citizens," explained Marcelo Talens, president of COAVN Navarra during the presentation of this program.

"Anyone carries inside an architect. We, as architecture professionals, are going to help them see themselves as such. We want these anniversary days to be a celebration for architecture," said José Manuel Pozo, professor at School of Architecture of the University of Navarra and one of the coordinators of these activities. He also recalled that of the four Navarrese buildings included in the latest selection made by DoCoMoMo Ibérico, three are the work of Redón and Guibert and can be seen on guided tours next Thursday: Casa Huarte, Club Golf Ulzama and Torre de Erroz.
