Students of the School of Education and Psychology develop the project educational of the centenary of finding of the site of Santa Criz de Eslava.

This work is part of its work fin de Degree and will include educational workshops for school children and families.

A group of seven students from the School of Education and Psychology, led by Professor Carmen Urpí, will be responsible for developing the pedagogical project for the dissemination campaign and knowledge dissemination of the centenary of the finding of the Navarrese archaeological site of Santa Cruz de Eslava. This work is part of the strategic plan VESTA 2016-2020: Initiative for the research and dynamization of the archaeological site of Santa Criz de Eslava (Navarra, Spain), signed by the City Council of Eslava and the Government of Navarra, through a agreement with the University of Navarra, subsidized by the European Union. This project is managed by Cederna- Garalur and is supported by the Government of Navarra and the Fundación Caja Navarra.

The project educational will include a critical conceptual review of the heritage Education in archaeological contexts, a field study on educational activities at Roman archaeological sites in the western Mediterranean; the design of a pedagogical project for the archaeological site of Santa Cruz de Eslava and a plan of research-action with educational workshops for school and family audiences on the centenary of the finding of Santa Cruz de Eslava.

According to Carmen Urpí, doctor in pedagogy and manager of the direction of the final works of Degree, this is "an opportunity to generate valid and quality educational proposals for the Education artistic and patrimonial, because the work in team is core topic to investigate in the field of pedagogy and social Education ".

For her part, Itsaso Cordón, a student in the 6th year of Teacher Training at Education Infant Education and Pedagogy and manager of the Conceptual Foundation of project, highlights the benefits of this approach for the students: "This project is being a very rewarding experience for me, at the same time as significant, since in addition to carrying out an intense bibliographical review, we have been able to observe the landscape in which we are going to develop through a visit to the site, and above all we will be able to put on internship the workshops in duplicate".

Variety of workshops

Among the actions that the students will develop are the workshops, aimed at different groups. Verónica González, student of 5th year of Teaching in Education Infant and Pedagogy and manager of the development of workshops for students of Education Infant, values very positively the opportunity, and highlights the opportunity to have the opportunity to make a work end of Degree belonging to a group, experientially and, above all, in a internship and innovative way. "It is not just a question of doing an individual research , but of having the opportunity to use our work to give a vision of Navarre's archaeological heritage, so that families, schools, young people and adults can enjoy it". Íñigo Iriarte, student of the same course and in charge of the elaboration of workshops for the adult public , says in the same direction: "with this work end of Degree we will try to make this site known by carrying out different workshops designed for all subject of people. It is a very interesting TFG because we will be able to take it to internship and also with this we intend to promote the dissemination of the archaeological heritage of Eslava" .Beatriz Cristina Garbayo, a 5th year student of Education Infant Education and Pedagogy, is in charge of developing the workshops for families . She points out that project goes beyond a TFG: "The University of Navarra has given us the great opportunity to be part of a real, tangible project , developed by ourselves. As soon as we had contact with the site, we jumped headlong into this experience, which is growing day by day and we hope it will become a pedagogical project of reference letter".
