The School of Economics of the University of Navarra held the Recruiting Daand in which 335 students from Degree and postgraduate program from different degrees have entered contact with national and international companies in the Finance, Innovation and Technology, Marketing and Sales, Professional Services and FMCG sectors.

Representatives from 27 companies, including Amazon, Procter & Gamble, Unilever, Acciona, Danone, Salesforce, Banco Santander, Bankinter and Lidl, as well as the Big Four (KPMG, Deloitte, E&Y and PwC...), shared with the students the keys to the employment of the future and what they are looking for in candidates. Recruiters opened 32 selection processes for internships and jobs.

Recruiting Day

The candidate of the financial profile , according to Jorge Bolivar, president of the Investment Foundation and development, must evolve and be as complete as possible to provide value to customers. This profile corresponds to people who "vibrate with their lives and enjoy their work".

For its part, the world of professional services (consultancy service and auditing) is looking for people with knowledge of innovation and critical capacity, according to Luis Lopez, director of Deloitte Human Resources. "You have to be a sponge and learn from your colleagues at work," he said.

Likewise, Yera Vaquero, from Unilever, pointed out that companies in the Marketing and Sales sector also demand from their candidates the ability to innovate and generate new ideas. "Brands also have the purpose to improve society and the lives of their consumers."

In the technology field, however, they are looking for candidates with negotiation skills who share the same values as business. "We like to attract talent that can develop within the company," said Ana San Agustín of Amazon.

In the FMCG sector, Javier Fernandez, from Danone, emphasized the "ability to learn and to let go, since everything is constantly changing today". For her part, Cristina Tejero, senior consultant at Michael Page, recalled the skills needed to manage a team well: "Communication, empathy, conflict resolution".

Students as ambassadors of university talent

A total of 38 students belonging to six clubs of the School Economics have been the ambassadors to the companies, having the opportunity to meet the recruiters up close. "It has been a great fortune to be able to count on leading companies on a global scale. In addition, I had the opportunity to be an ambassador for PwC, and to be able to have such a close contact with the representatives," said Paloma Ruiz, a 3rd year ADE and Bilingual Law student and member of the Case Competition Club.

For her part, Elena Belzunce, manager of relations with companies and alumni of the School of Economics, highlighted "the opportunity that the students of different Schools have had to establish a direct relationship with employers in the more than 30 selection processes that have been opened for them".
