The professor and professor of International Public Law, Eugenia López-Jacoiste, has been part of the Spanish team in the exercise 'Locked Shields' 2024, organized by NATO and led by the Joint Cyberspace Command (MCCE) of the Ministry of Defense, consisting of about 200 people, both military and civilian.

The 'Locked Shields' is a unique opportunity to practice the protection of Spanish IT systems and critical infrastructure under the pressure of a massive cyber attack. Organized by the NATO Center of Excellence for Cooperative Cyber Defense, it is the most demanding and complicated 'live fire' exercise in the field of cyberspace worldwide. Two simulated countries face off, with one assuming the role of attacker and the other the role of defender, trying to protect their own critical infrastructure while attempting to nullify enemy infrastructure.

Professor Lopez-Jacoiste was part of the legal team that was composed of 12 people, both from the Ministry of Defense trial service and from the Prosecutor's Office.
