Jáuregui de Oharriz Palace, Lekaroz

Converted into an armoury palace on 17th May 1675, the building was constructed from 1748 onwards by the stonemasons Francisco Bereterreche and Martín de Gamio, who erected a cubic building with rendered walls, with a façade topped by three dormers and in which twelve openings are arranged rhythmically. Its owner at the time was Pedro de Jáuregui, who was able to carry out the work thanks to the financial aidsent by his brother Francisco Martín, a successful businessman based in Madrid. His brothers were also Agustín, governor and captain general of the kingdom of Chile and viceroy of Peru (1780-1784) and Pedro Fermín, canon and archdeacon of Pamplona cathedral.
