Before and after the rehabilitation of a house in Urdanoz, Navarra. The team of Tantaka Arquitecturaat the request of Caritashas made the necessary repairs in the kitchen and bathroom to improve the living conditions of a family.

Cáritas Diocesana de Pamplona y Tudela requested partnership to TANTAKA during the 2013- 2014 academic year so that, through the volunteers of TANTAKA, it could help to improve the habitability conditions of some houses so that the families without resources can live in them in more dignified conditions. School of Architecturevolunteers, to help improve the poor living conditions of some homes so that families without resources living in them are in more dignified conditions. This solidarity activity is intended to improve homes with low or no income that can not do it themselves and can not pay others to do it. Each of these cases is a complex status that simultaneously affects the homes and the family groups living in them: the state of the housing and equipment does not allow the creation of minimum conditions of well-being for living; lack of work and professional preparation that would allow them to be self-sufficient and lack of self-esteem; problems and difficulties of coexistence among its members; health, hygiene and food problems that do not allow an adequate development of children; social exclusion of adults and especially of children and elderly people, which places them in society in a position of great vulnerability; lack of motivation that makes it difficult or prevents them from evolving towards situations that are proper to the dignity of people; etc.

This project is made possible each year by the efforts of work groups made up of volunteers (students from all grades of the School of Architecture, staff from the laboratory of Building and the Maintenance Service of the University of Navarra), the support of the Foundation business - University (FEUN), the partnership of companies (Saltoki, Leroy Merlin, Dicona, BSH, Carpintería y design Mañeru S.A.L. and others) and very small economic resources, which are channeled to each of the projects assigned by Caritas. With this, the results are obtained that, separately, would not have any result or would be achieved in less Degree.
