Professor Miguel Ángel Alonso del Val of the School of Architecture of the University of Navarra Miguel Ángel Alonso del Val has been named honorary Full Professor of the University of the Isthmus (Guatemala). The investiture took place during the celebration of the Chair Jorge Montes "in recognition of his B professional and academic career", according to Ana María de García, dean of the School of Architecture and design of that institution.

The architect also delivered the opening speech at lecture of the eleventh edition of this event, which aims to raise awareness among students, professors and professionals of architecture about the role of the profession in the advancement of society and the individual through service.

Miguel Ángel Alonso del Val is an urban architect (1979) and Doctor of Architecture (1983) with extraordinary awards from the School of Architecture of the University of Navarra. He also holds a Master of Science in Architecture & Building Design from Columbia University (1985). He is Full Professor of Projects and has been Senior Associate Professor of the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid (ETSAM).

Co-founder of'AH Asociados', he has obtained, together with Rufino J. Hernández Minguillón, more than seventy first prizes in professional competitions and has been finalist of the COAVN Awards (1993-1995-2001-2003, 2007 and 2010); II-III-VI Biennial of Spanish Architecture (1993-1995 and 2001); IV sample of Spanish Architects FAC (1996); Community of Murcia 2003; FAD 2002, Saloni 2007 and Construmat 2003 and 2009, as well as the National Awards VETECO 2002 and 2004, SEDIGAS 2002, PAD 2003, APCE 2005 and NAN 2009. partner His work has been exhibited and published in numerous exhibitions, catalogs, books and professional magazines, in the Venice Biennale (2008), as well as in the guides "Arquitectura de España 1929/1996", "Arquitectura Española 1920/2000" and the "Phaidon World Atlas 2005".

Among his most recognized works are the sports center of the University of Navarra, the Ericsson BTC Building, the National Energy Museum, the Granada Performing Arts Center and the renovation of the Arantzazu Sanctuary.
