Luis Orbaiceta de Nasvascués, Rubén Aldaba Vizcay and Santiago de Pablo Fernández, graduates in Architecture from the University of Navarra, received a Porcelanosa School of Architecture University of Navarra, received a Porcelanosaaward last Thursday, April 26.

The award is part of the XI edition of the Porcelanosa Awards, in the category Future Projects-Students. This award recognizes its project, "The Origami", as the best in its category that uses the different materials of the companies of group Procelanosa, and encourages the creative activity of new and future professionals.

"The goal of the competition was to create a showroom for Porcelanosa's facilities in Vila-Real (Castellón)," says de Pablo.

The three architects decided to enter this competition to work for the first time as DOA Architecture, a studio they recently founded. "For our project, we created a cave capable of displaying the materials offered by the different brands of group in its own structure. A mesh is created that pierces through the material and creates a unique sensation for the visitor. The space is naturally illuminated by skylights, from which a symbiosis is created between the rock and the mesh like a tree that nourishes the space with life, giving shelter to visitors," they explain.

"The distribution takes advantage of the existing perimeter of the building to house the exhibition areas (living spaces), allowing the entrance of light and freeing the central core with the skylight for circulation and unique exhibitions. The mesh itself delimits the different spaces, except for the perimeter areas, which are divided by partitions with different finishes depending on the space," they add.
