Scientists with an entrepreneurial vocation are sought

The School of Sciences opens the deadline of registration for the Diploma in management and Science Entrepreneurship 2016-17

Once again this year, and now in its fourth edition, the School of Sciences has launched the Diploma in management and Creation of Science Companies, consisting of three modules and a final work in which different business ideas are presented and evaluated. The proposals are prepared by the students' teams and are presented before a panel of experts and entrepreneurs.

The goal of this Diploma, promoted by Career Services of the School of Sciences, consists of the student to develop the most demandedprofessional competences in the organizations, to acquire basic knowledge of the management business, to discover the industry as an attractive professional outlet to their development training and, if they wish, to start their own business.

Aimed at students of the academic center's science area , a total of 30 places are offered with a modality of teaching eminently internship, based on the case method and participatory sessions. The first module, which will be held from October 1 to 22, will focus on the role of the business in the field of science, providing students with basic business knowledge and working on the most relevant competencies for the world of work. At the end of this first module, groups of work will be created to design a possible business idea, with the advice of Ikan Biotech, a startup located in CEIN.

Carlos Andreu and the case method

From January 14 to February 4, the second module will focus on the concepts of management and business vision, work in teams, etc., all taught through the case method, where students will analyze strategies of real companies. Among the speakers will be management coach and trainer Carlos Andreu.

The third and final module, from May 22-26, will be an intensive session focused on how to present a business idea in the most effective way. For these, groups of work students will put on internship everything they have learned in front of a court that will judge their business idea. Students will also receive a session on how to finance their ideas (public and private financing, venture capital formula, etc.), effective communication strategies, etc.

To access the Diploma interested students will make a selection process after sending an email to Cristina Martinez(c.martinez@unav.es), manager Career Services de Ciencias and sending an updated curriculum , a letter with the reasons for taking the course and a proposal about a possible business idea.
