María Garralda, a first year student at the University of Navarra's Medical SchoolSchool , started up project Madada this summer. This is an initiative that arose with the idea of sponsoring children at group .
"In these difficult times it is hard to ask a single person to donate 100 euros, so we decided to create a sponsorship system at group. With that money we would cover the school and living expenses of the children," explains María. Once people go to agreement and deposit the money in the project account, the money is sent to the Adivasi children at the Nirmal Primary School."Adivasis are, within the caste system, the lowest level; many work for little money in the fields or as laborers in industry."
Why did Madada arise?"A year ago I decided that I wanted to do something altruistic for the summer of my 18th birthday. So I decided to go to India and, with financial aid from a Jesuit friend, I set up contact a mission statement in the country".
Once there, together with other Spaniards, they decided that the best way to help was to publicize the work of mission statement. "That's when Madada was born. An NGO that encourages people to sponsor a child among several people in a way that is less costly".
Back in Spain, she is still interested in the work of volunteer activities and encourages others to do the same. "It has no scientific explanation, but I don't know anyone who doesn't feel good and value everything more when they give of themselves to others." In addition, those interested in sponsoring a child through Madada can contact them at contact by writing to m_garralda@hotmail.com.
