150 students start their programs of study in the School of Pharmacy and Nutrition

75 will study Degree in Pharmacy, 51 will study Human Nutrition and Dietetics, while 24 will take the double degree Degree

The School of Pharmacy and Nutrition welcomed 150 new students on Monday, September 2. Of these, 75 will take the Degree in Pharmacy, 51 will study Human Nutrition and Dietetics, while 24 will take the double Degree. In addition, 12 students are enrolled in the Diploma in Sports Nutrition, 15 in the International Nutrition Certificate and 17 in the International Pharmaceutical Certificate.

The students come from 12 autonomous communities and 15 different countries, including the United States, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, the Philippines, Mexico, Colombia, Nicaragua, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Venezuela, Guatemala, Honduras, Panama, Uruguay and the Ivory Coast.

In her welcoming remarks, Dr. Adela López de Cerain, dean of the School, encouraged them to make the most of all the opportunities, both academic and extracurricular, that the University will offer them in the coming years. Similarly, Dr. Silvia de Carlos, vice dean of students, emphasized the training in other skills that they will receive throughout the programs of study from the hand of Core Curriculum: "We want you to leave here being fantastic professionals but also excellent people".

During the workshop, the new students also had the opportunity to meet their advisors and course coordinators. In addition, they learned first-hand about different initiatives that complement university life such as Tantaka or the Museum, and exchanged experiences with other students from the School to successfully face their first year.
