One Silver and three bronzes in the Iberoamerican Biology Olympiad
The four students who were trained at the University and attended the Iberoamerican Biology Olympiad have obtained medals.

The four Spanish representatives at the 2016 Ibero-American Biology Olympiad won bronze medals and a silver medal at the competition, held in Brasilia between September 11 and 16.
The winning students were trained at the CIMA and at the School of Sciences of the University of Navarra before participating in the international and Ibero-American phases of the competition. In this second case, the students who received a medal were Antonio Bertolín, from the Agora Lledó Center in Castellón -floor medal-; César Palacios, from high school Ntra. Sra. del Buen committee in Madrid; Jordi Garriga, from Institut La Segarra in Cervera (Catalonia); and Pablo Cifuentes, from IES Los Olmos in Albacete (Castilla-La Mancha), who each received a bronze medal.
Twelve countries took part in the competition: Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, El Salvador, Spain, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Uruguay and Venezuela.
With this Iberoamerican phase, the 2016 edition of the Biology Olympiad comes to an end. In 2017 the national phase of this competition, which will be in its twelfth edition, will take place at the School of Sciences of the University of Navarra from March 23 to 26. Then, the XXVIII International Olympiad will be held in Coventry (Great Britain) from 23 to 30 July and the XI Ibero-American Olympiad will be held in Portugal in September.
