Innovactoras, project with which the high school business and Humanism collaborates, receives the United Nations WSIS 2020 Global WSIS award

The project has won the category of regional and international cooperation.

This past Monday, September 7, the winners of the award World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) were announced. World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) 2020, where the association navarra Innovactoras was recognized as the winning initiative in the category of regional and international cooperation. It is the only Spanish entity distinguished in this edition. Some of its members, together with authorities from the Government of Navarra, were connected to the virtual ceremony from the Institute for Culture and Society (ICS) of the University of Navarra. Precisely, this is where one of the initiatives of Innovactoras, network WINN.

WSIS is a summit organized by the committee Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nationswhich recognizes activities and projects that, through information and communication technologies (ICTs), contribute to sustainable development .

In this ninth edition of the summit, more than 800 initiatives were submitted worldwide. After a first selection of 220 projects, 55 were nominated for the final, of which 11 were the winners. The event was to be held in April 2020 in Geneva (Switzerland), but was postponed to September and took place online due to the global Covid-19 pandemic. 

Innovactoras, a non-profit organization born in Navarra with the spirit of creating a network of female referents in the global innovation ecosystem and that today has more than 60 women and young people from 17 countries, has been recognized as a platform that connects, promotes and supports innovators from different realities of the XXI century: science, technology, business, Education and society. Likewise, this award highlights the role of women who develop their profession and innovate in the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) field.
