University celebrates Sports Day with more than 60 activities
Among the novelties, there will be horses, a zumba masterclass, family golf and an F1 simulator.
The University of Navarra will celebrate on Saturday, September 19th the Sports Daywhich will offer more than 60 different activities and will revolve around four axes: solidarity, health, sustainability and society. In addition, among its novelties will be horses, a zumba masterclass, family golf and a Formula 1 driver training simulator.
The director of the Sports Service of the University, Javier Trigo, has encouraged in press conference "all the citizens of Pamplona and Navarra" to participate in "the great celebration of the sport of the University". He also pointed out that the goal is to promote sport in society and for this he recommended to come "without haste, without a car, accompanied and with a sporting spirit".
The XXII Sports Day is organized by the University of Navarra in partnership with La Caixa, Coca-Cola, Fundación Caja Navarra and Diario de Navarra and expects the participation of "around 6,000 people", as indicated by the director of the Sports Service of the University.
Javier Fernández, representative of Fundación Caja Navarra and the territorial director of CaixaBank, Ana Díez, also took part in the presentation , highlighting the importance of development of sports activities in Navarre's society.
Also present were the president of the Navarre Equestrian Federation, Patxi Jiménez; Gabriel Arroyo and María Pilar Pérez, from the University's Sports Service ; Oscar Insausti, director Institutions of la Caixa; Natalia Ramos, manager of the COE (congress of Oncology for Students); and Laura Torres, from the University's CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) program.
The activities, which will take place between 10 am and 7 pm, will be divided into three categories: team sports, including 3x3 soccer, street basketball and triples and family golf; individual sports, squash, children's tennis, Gran award children Tecnun, Cross COE 'Rambo Race', Cross COE children and Zumba Masterclass; and sports for couples, paddle tennis and volleyball 2x2.
The Great Solidarity ChallengeIn total, 20 groups, representing a School, degree program, high school major, residency program or club, will participate in the Great Solidarity Challenge, whose award will go to the cause that the winners decided when formalizing the registration.
These prizes, which will be 1,200, 700 and 500 euros, will be awarded to the top three finishers who pass the Batak, Surf, Cross COE 'Rambo Race', Fútbillar, 'Do it as you can' and Sports Song Festival. In addition, throughout the day it will be possible to participate in the Digital Photography Contest and the traditional paella will be prepared for lunch.
On the other hand, the Sports Day will join the week of the mobility organized by the University this week, so it will be enabled a bicycle parking in front of the Sports Service between 10:30 and 20 hours and a train that will run the route 'sports center - Iturrama with source del Hierro - place Felix Huarte - sports center' with a frequency of 30 minutes.
