Iñigo Etayo, Elena Furiase and Mauro Muñiz are some of the protagonists of the film 'Un dios prohibido', a story "of love and forgiveness" that also features Jesús Guzmán.

The new film by Contracorriente Producciones is directed by Pablo Moreno and narrates the martyrdom of 51 members of the Claretian community of Barbastro (Huesca) at the beginning of the Spanish Civil War.

With a script by Juan Díaz, this is a choral film with the participation of more than fifty actors, including main and supporting actors, as well as 400 extras, most of them residents of Ciudad Rodrigo (Salamanca), the town where most of the film was shot.

"The story is very peculiar and is out of the usual Civil War narrative. After immersing ourselves in the story, I think it has a unique and great topic that surrounds everything and which is reached progressively, which is the topic of forgiveness above all else," stated Pablo Moreno during an interview.

The months of shooting in Ciudad Rodrigo "have been hard and at the same time fantastic. We have had to overcome the problems, mainly economic, with imaginative solutions and the generosity of the people", commented the director of the film, which has counted with a budget of less than 300,000 euros.
